Experts Talk About Head Start, Investing in Early Childhood Development

Omaha, Neb. — Early childhood experts and philanthropists came together Sept. 11 at the University of Nebraska Omaha for “50 Years after Head Start: Making an Investment in Early Childhood Education in America.” See the panel discussion in its entirety: https://youtu.be/INy_6QmYGVU

The panel discussion featured Samuel J. Meisels, Founding Executive Director, Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska; Jackie Bezos, President and Co-Founder, Bezos Family Foundation; George Kaiser, Chairman, BOK Financial Corporation; Deval Patrick, Managing Director of Bain Capital LLC and former governor of Massachusetts; and J.B. Pritzker, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Pritzker Group. The moderator was Walter Isaacson, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, and former chairman and CEO of CNN and TIME Magazine editor. More than 300 community leaders, educators, early childhood professionals, policymakers, and others attended the event at the Strauss Performing Arts Center on the UNO campus.
