2018-19 PD for All First Institute

Omaha, Neb.

The first institute in the 2018-19 Professional Development for All series, themed "Harnessing the Power of  Language and Communication to Build Children's Literacy Success." Featured speakers include Nell Duke, a professor in the School of Education at the University of Michigan and a nationally recognized education consultant; Jonathan Fribley, an advocate, consultant, coach, mentor, and trainer; Cristina Gillanders, a professor in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Colorado and a noted researcher in dual language learners' development and learning; Anne Karabon, an associate professor of early childhood education and STEM at the University of Nebraska at Omaha; and Debora Wisneski, an associate professor at UNO who currently serves as president of the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI). The institute will be presented in English, with Spanish-language support as needed.

Follow-up workshops, or "Learning Labs," will be scheduled to support continued learning and application of PD for All topics. Spanish-language labs will be offered. Dates for the workshops will be announced in September.
