Erica Nett joined the Buffett Institute in 2021 as a public outreach communications specialist. Nett came to the Institute after five years with the Nebraska Athletic Department, where she supported the communications, social media, and recruiting efforts for several Husker programs including football, softball, volleyball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and rifle. In her role, Nett also worked directly with Nebraska’s award-winning Life Skills program and supported NCAA and Big Ten staff at postseason events. Nett also had internships with the Los Angeles Chargers and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletic Department. A proud native of Stoughton, Wisconsin, Nett earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska ̶ Lincoln, where she had a double major in broadcasting and advertising and public relations, and minors in theater and Spanish. She also has an MBA from UNL. She is married to Abdul Sesay.
