Buffett Institute Statement on the Senate Introduction of the Child Care Modernization Act

The Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska released the following statement after the bipartisan Child Care Modernization Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate on Sept. 17, 2025. The bill was introduced by Senators Deb Fischer (NE), Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), John Hickenlooper (CO), and Susan Collins (ME).

“This bipartisan bill comprehensively addresses foundational challenges in child care, with common sense policies and solutions that are informed by the real-world experiences of those who provide early care and education throughout the United States."
