Sue Walker, Budget and Accounting Manager
Sue Walker joined the Buffett Institute in 2019 as the budget and accounting manager in the operations team. She is responsible for management of the financial business operations, which includes oversight of budget and financial transactions, development of the annual budget, generating reports and financial statements, and ensuring compliance with audit and business requirements. Walker came to the Buffett Institute from the University of Nebraska ΜΆ Lincoln, where she served as operations manager for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and managed the HAPPI and Beadle business centers. Within the IANR structure the business centers provide support for departments, faculty, and students by managing human resources including hiring and payroll, financial and budget management and reporting, grant support, and general accounting. Before coming to IANR, she provided financial and budget management and reporting for the Division of Continuing Studies at UNL. Walker attended college as a nontraditional student and holds a bachelor’s degree with majors in business administration and psychology/sociology from Peru State College.
