Kanyon Chism, associate director of program development

Kanyon Chism came to the Buffett Institute in 2020 from Omaha Public Schools, where she has worked for almost two decades as a teacher, assistant principal, and central office administrator. Most recently she served as the elementary supervisor for curriculum, instruction, and assessment and as coordinator of elementary projects and school improvement. As associate director of program development, Chism will work closely with Lisa Roy, director of program development, and Cris Lopez Anderson, program administrator for the Superintendents’ Early Childhood Plan. Chism earned an Ed.D. in educational leadership and a master’s degree in elementary education, both from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and she received a B.A. in elementary education from Creighton University. She also holds a school superintendent’s certificate and a PreK-12 endorsement in educational administration.
