The Buffett Early Childhood Institute has authored a paper on certification for the early childhood workforce in the state.
In the paper, entitled “Buffett Early Childhood Institute Perspective: Credentialing the Early Childhood Workforce in Nebraska,” the Institute registers its support for continuing certification of teachers in state-funded early childhood programs as required under Rule 11 of Nebraska state regulation. The Institute supports the establishment of innovative and adaptive systems of preparation and accountability to help prepare more early childhood professionals, who may lack a bachelor’s degree but possess extensive practical experience and high levels of skill.
